Ravager-Boss PQ-4 Parametric EQ

This is my final build report until further notice. This is a collaboration with @zombie_rock123 and turned out great. Since I built the GE-7 and GE-7B graphic EQs I have been very interested in trying the PQ-4. The idea of using a parametric EQ like in my DAW but thru the amp first as a stompbox really intrigued me as I thought I could really alter the tone of my instruments. Lucas did a great job on this one and it's been really fun in exploring new tones.

This is a pretty rare pedal from boss and fetches some pretty high prices on the used market. Unlike the graphic EQs that carve notches out, this is much more dramatic and flexible. The Q is much wider and will have more overall impact on the sound than the the narrow frequencies on a graphic EQ. It also sounds more natural than graphic. I can make my Les Paul sound like a strat or tele and make my tele sound like a resonator. The amount of tone shaping is truly astounding. Also, I should point out that it's really a semi parametric EQ as the Q is fixed and not adjustable.

For the enclosure I used a grey tayda 1590BB2 and UV printing. For the design I went with Peter Quill to match the PQ naming of the Boss pedal. A really great build that allows me to transform my bass or guitars to really become whatever I want them to be for any song. Thanks again Lucas for making it a happen🙏 looking forward to when I can dust off the iron from retirement and make a comeback with the few pedals I still hope to build one day.

Cracking build mate, top drawer stuff. Also, a pleasure to work with you, hopefully be able to coax another build report in the not too distant future!
Looking forward to it as always👑
Killer as always! I love a good EQ 🤤
Thanks Nick
Is the schematic similar to this one?
That was used as a reference along with the original boss service manual schematic. For some reason they changed the volume pot to 20kw, I left it stock at 10kw
