Built to vintage spec according to the docs, including the TA7136p preamp chip and 1S2743 clippers. Used IR LEDs and an on/off/on toggle for the other clipping options

Being a 90s kid and Nirvana fan, I've always liked the DS-1, but I'm digging this thing hard particularly hard. The no diode option is especially nice- louder of course, but also a lot more dynamic, and just seems bigger overall. Handles chords and my sloppy playing style incredibly well, and harmonics pop out easily. Has a pretty wide range of tones, too - from a lighter drive / boost up to the heavy compressed clang it's famous for. Easily my favorite of this batch of Boss Dirts I've been working through.
It's not gonna replace the Rat for me, but I am gonna be keeping one of these on hand, and try to fit it on my recently downsized board.

Here's a quick demo showing my favorite settings so far (baritone Telemaster into Simplifier clone set for Fender Twin tones)-
I'll record another when I box up the late model Comet I'm also working on

I did mess with the Big Muff mods on the first stage but felt it made it way too anemic to be usable for me.
