Pedalpcb source in the UK?

Hi folks

I am trying to acquire a single pedalpcb 3PDT daughterboard.

Getting a $0.50 pcb shipped across the Atlantic for $10 seems like a waste of money and fuel.

Anyone know where I can get one in the UK?

(alternatively, if someone has translated the daughterboards from other sources like Fuzzdog and could explain to me like I'm five how to wire these with a pedalpcb effects PCB that would be lovely)

Really? I've often wondered why so many guys use those little PCBs on the switches instead of wiring straight to the switch. Seems like more work to me!
+1
the mindset / habit of builders that insist on using 3PDT daughterboards , ill never understand.

the most superfluous unnecessary shit of all time.

- you're literally increasing the number of solder joints you have to do.
- it takes longer to finish a build with a 3PDT daughterboard than it takes to just run the damn wires directly to the switch lugs.

- and mostly importantly of all 3PDT boards are just damn ugly (IMO)
you're robbing yourself of the opportunity to perform some sweet aesthetic wire routing.

That's a positive for a lot of people, not a negative.

I also for whatever reason used to hate doing the wiring for a 3PDT, but it's not bad once you've done it a few times. It's quite quick and easy.

everyone’s different i guess. and that’s a good thing.
for me a 3PDT board is just inconvenient

I like 3PDT PCBs as an opportunity to reduce offboard wiring and solder them straight to headers on the main PCB. Sure it's more solder connections, but it's less wire used and saves time overall. Even without header pins though, they help to keep the innards tidy and despite being more solder connections I think it's still faster than going direct to switch.

Is that?…. Nahh couldn’t be.

There is honestly a situation where both are responsible IMO, if the switch is going to be right up against the board and a daughter board lines up with all the pads f$@k yeah that’s the way to go. But if the switch is a mile away from the board, you are running wire anyway might as well just be consistent. And there is the case for the daughter board where you need if you got something crazy going on or an odd pin out/ pad configuration. And it’s just way easier to run the daughter board.

That makes sense! I really like how neat it is when you can do that. But in the majority of boards here I don't see the point, although I am more used to off-board wiring than most as I come to pedal building from amp building. None of my amps have any PCBs at all. (No I'm not anti-PCB! I build old-school style amps)

What he said. all the boards i make i have the jack in and out at the top of the board and make the board large enough to use headers. It doesnt make the boards anymore expensive for the 125b sized ones at least.

Another case for hand wiring is it’s much easier to accommodate out of the box thinking and approaches to modifications. Where with a daughter board you are mostly locked into what’s there.

💯
I have wired order switching without a daughter board… definitely the daughter board would have been easier
I did that once and immediately ordered at jlcpcb :-) Even if I needed them only for one other project I have no an easy to use pcb for another project in 5 years or so.

A lot of times I use the adapter board because I bought a bunch of 3PDT stomps with pcb pins on clearance.
