Hello all,

What do I do!!???

I am very new to building pedals. I was given this put together pedal but had to drill holes for the enclosure. While drilling, I needed to make adjustments and with the electronics inside, the pedal spin around with the drill and some "diodes" were twisted, bent, etc...

I have added pictures.

The person who gave me the pedal also gave me red clipping diodes.

Can I use these instead of the blue diodes that look the same?

Look for the BLUE DIODES in the picture or let me know if anything else looks off.

The light was working but now it is off...

Do I clip the diodes to the needed size for....
D1 Red 3mm Red LED, Diffused
D2 Red 3mm Red LED, Diffused

I think these are the parts on the build document that look the most screwed up????

what plies do I use?

He put blue ones in. Does it matter they are twisted and look messed up?

Is there a book to learn all this!?!

I am jumping in the deep end on pedal building and hope I can swim.

Thanks in advance!!!

doesn't produce sound. It was working before the diodes were twisted. i am wondering if u can see anything that is the problem or have advice.

I will look into the sockets. I dont know what they are but Ill make sure they dont touch.

I just want the thing to work again. I am thinking about putting the clipping diodes in where the blue ones were.

Do you use metal cutters to make the diodes fit or just bend them and break off the end?

Any advice is helpful.

Thanks.

Sorry i dont know what to exactly ask...

take the blue LEDs out anyway, try any other diodes (the red LEDs are fine) and see what happens. Did you drill the enclosure with the circuit board inside? It reads like that. Don't do that.

Metal flush cutters are the best tool for the job, but bend back and forth until they break if you don't have any. Any sort of pliers that hold them in place will work for that scenario.

Super Helpful

Thanks NostraDOOM! U ROCK

I did drill the enclosure with the circuit inside...eeek....
I thought it would be a fast little drill but it got out of control and spun around 5-10 times.

I don't know what broke but the blue diodes and LED light in the middle got bent. I will use the Red ones.

Will the red also work for the LED light?

Thanks again!!!!
