2sk209g alternative?

Hello,
I’m going to be building the eight ball overdrive, and I have all the parts except the 2sk209g JFET. Is there another alternative I could substitute in its place? Many thanks!

It's an input buffer. Most JFETs will swap in fine. Only common JFET I'd recommend avoiding for that position is J201/ mmbf201

I don't know about the 2SK209-G, but the 2SK209-GR is still available as an TO-236 SMD from Mouser.
Not disagreeing w/ the other answers above, just noting...

Aion FX has the 2SK209 already soldered to adapter boards if you are in the US.

probably. it's just a buffer.
i actually used/tried a J201, and a 2N5089 in my breadboard build, and both worked fine.

Will a 2n5457 be a drop in replacement as far as pinout goes? The pinout of smd transistors confuse me. @temol

I think so..
As you can see below - the pinout is different. But, the important thing is that G is in the right place. S and D are swapped, but usually D and S are interchangeable, so there shouldn't be any problems.
