    Modded Hyped Fuzz-boss FZ-2w 🤡

Yeah, just noticed that in your pic. Mine must be older - it's 10K on mine in that same position on the PCB. I just downloaded the current build doc, and will adjust accordingly. Thx again

    Modded Hyped Fuzz-boss FZ-2w 🤡

I'm showing R11 is 10K. Am I looking at that incorrectly?

    Modded Hyped Fuzz-boss FZ-2w 🤡

Very cool, thx! I don't have the patience to strip my case and start over, so I'll add an internal on/off DIP switch down the road. Thx for sharing that mod.

    Modded Hyped Fuzz-boss FZ-2w 🤡

Interested as well - I'm waiting on a short-lever toggle switch that should be here this week - the build is ready to box up, but I'd love an 'octave off' option. (because I love options)

    Gauss Drive/XB-MB - run higher than 9V?

Sounds good - someone asked about it on TGP, but I wanted to check here in case someone had discussed it with PPCB's versions. I'll stick with 9V.

    Gauss Drive/XB-MB - run higher than 9V?

Quick question: Can the Gauss or XB-MB (roughly the same circuit) run at a higher voltage than 9V? What is the max limit?

A David Gilmour Inspired Strat - Redux

NICE! I just sent them my set of Guild LB-1 humbuckers to rewind/upgrade.

Why is there no official schematic for the Ibanez Sonic Distortion?

Yes, that one. Please take no offense, I'm well aware that PPCB, Aion and Madbean all offer SD9 clone boards. My question is just about an official schematic not being available, seemingly anywhere.

Why is there no official schematic for the Ibanez Sonic Distortion?

Seems like there is a schem available for almost everything Ibanez, and it makes sense that there aren't ones for some of the rarer pedals. But the Sonic Distortion is pretty widely available (maybe not as affordable as they once were, but still). I've seen Dirk Hendrik's schematic, and...

    Yes, another buffer question

Sorry, have to ask and the search I ran on the forums were specific to particular builds. My query is more general: as most of my pedals are DIY and true-bypass, I'd like to incorporate buffers in some, if not half, of them (maybe alternating buffered-->true BP --> buffered, etc). What is a...

    DEMO Dirty Sanchez

Nice! I built the Brown Betty config, and keep going back/forth on which one I like better: that, or the Complex OD (Smallbox OD). I made an adapter board to use two BAV99 transistors as diodes, just like the Friedmans. The Brown Betty is just classic rock in a box.

Boss DS-1 (MIJ) build - transistor boost config vs selecting transistors?

Here's the schematic: I basically removed/jumpered Q6 and Q7 in my layout, and omitted the related switching section connected to those in the above schematic. I left the cap values the same, except for C9, which I have plugged in lower values; the DS-1A (post-1994) has .068uF in that...

    BOSS PEDAL SERVICE MANUALS

AWESOME find! Thanks! I've rev-engineered several from these over the years using the service manual PCB layouts - most recently the MIJ Boss DS-1. FYI - the DS-1A service manual has a cleaner version of the MIJ DS-1 schematic, as well as the original MIJ layout. Another FYI - if you're able to...

Boss DS-1 (MIJ) build - transistor boost config vs selecting transistors?

I recently got my prototype DIY build of a MIJ DS-1 going, and noticed two things: 1) It is a LOT thicker than any post-1994 DS-1 I've owned. So much so that I'm looking at reducing one of the coupling caps to make it a bit leaner. I mean, dialed in right, it's competing with a Metal Zone (in a...

    Electrovibe lamp to LED mod?

There were some Easyvibe users a while back that noted the difference in sound between different LED colors, with green sounding especially good. Good idea (building it stock first). Report back with your opinions on the LED vs lamp. I'm building my ElectroVibe with a lamp as well.

    Reliable source for TA7136APs?

Long story short: I had the urge a year or so ago to build a MIJ DS-1 from scratch. I traced the layout from the 1978 version, omitting the switching section; it's considerably smaller than the original. I sourced some TA7136APs from Retroamplis, but either those are bad or there is an issue...

    Lovetone Brown Source: worth building?

This one has intrigued me for years. It was a 'boutique' high-dollar distortion in the mid-late 90's, back when there weren't nearly as many private builders as there are now. Just curious if it's worth building, what with other Marshall-esque drives out there (the Friedman pedals, Marvel Drive...

Definitive bass-cut mod for the Boss OD-3?

Thanks @Chuck D. Bones With work & the holidays in full swing until the EOY, I'll likely start back building in January. I bought a few from Aion and PPCB during the Black Friday sales, but these are all 'new builds' and will go to the back of the line until other stuff is done.

Does ANYONE make a round enclosure?

Thx guys - I'm probably going to shelve this idea for a while. If I get really antsy, I'll just do a 125B.
