Fuzzy Fox Loud static when engaged [Moved from The Toolbox]

How's it looking after the reflow and clean? Do you have new pics? I was looking it over for bridges, but it would be easier to tell if it was cleaner. Have you confirmed the transistors are all turned the right way? That all the component values are right?

Thanks!! Still no idea what I'm doing with all that synth stuff but it's a lot of fun to mess with. You can see me crash and burn all kinds of ways on the internet :ROFLMAO:

    Trademark / Fuzz Bender

That's what has put me off of messing much with tonebenders and the like up till now. I did order a batch of Germs from the Ukraine a while back and added some more fuzzes to my backlog, but it sure is a lot more trouble than the stuff where you just put the right parts in the right holes and...

Cupcakes would have been a good choice! I've been spraying everything with a matte clearcoat, so all the colors end up with that fondant icing vibe. Text is via a weird rig based on some 1950s drafting tech. https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/what%E2%80%99s-on-your-workbench.13146/post-350834

Boutique Pedal Manufacturers Are Feeling the Tariff Pinch

    I’d smash that subscribe button.

Probably true. I’m interested in way more pedals for instance.

    Awful Waffle

Just in case anyone reads this later who ..ahem.. isn't as smart as you and me, could you be a little more specific about how one might implement that?

This is a cool circuit! I watched the Keeley video to try and wrap my head around what was going on with the controls - I think he said it's based on a tonebender, but with an active 20db boost/ cut eq similar to a metal zone. He also said he's using a Japanese germanium transistor around 100...

    Creamery Compressor Troubleshooting

Not saying you messed anything up, but this is a pretty classic claim for a troubleshooting thread with no pics that ends up having component errors. :ROFLMAO:

    Vibrato on delay signal

Definitely build one! And build one for your friend too! Just don't trap it in a weird giant combo pedal when you're done with it. :ROFLMAO:

    Vibrato on delay signal

The DMM is a really cool classic circuit and I think the MBP DMM projects are as good as you'll find, but that one was more of a white whale/ right of passage to get built and sounding right for me. I don't know where you're at in your pedal building journey, but I wouldn't recommend that one...

    Vibrato on delay signal

Depending on how much vibrato you need, you could check out some demos of the Magnetron / Keeley Mag Echo. Definitely easier if you don't have to re-invent the wheel. There's also the Dark Rift which has a lot more/ crazier modulation on tap, but I didn't like the noise level on that one.

What kind of perf do I want exactly?

I had some big perf ambitions, but I haven't followed through really. When I stocked up on boards I went with the double sided perf because I liked the idea of doing board mounted pots and soldering from the component side. Off board wired pots seems to be the norm in published layouts though...

    Mach 1 / Lightspeed

Thanks! Some folks cheat with that silicone or Teflon jacket wire, but I like the challenge of regular pvc. 🤣 It’ll melt if you stare at it too hard. I used to do a lot of tig welding, and there’s a similar thing with welding aluminum, where there’s a real small time window between where...

Drilling for Low Tide Mini (among other things)

It's a standard 6 knob. There's been a lot of discussion of how to set the trims on these in the forum. Do some searching and you should be able to find whatever you need. I think I just fiddled mine until I liked how they sounded, but here's someone who sounds like they know what they're...

    Awful Waffle

I definitely wondered if I did something wrong with my build or if I was losing my mind. I felt better when I found that TGP thread of people having this issue with the originals. The reason I even bothered messing with different opamps was that I do like the pedal. Tonally, texturally, it's up...

SIZE QUEEN TC-1 says "no component" but it's in there...

Parallel caps sum right? Can you double it up in the tester with a bigger cap and figure out the difference?

    Not sure what this means

Oh, I see now that left-right is flipped in the picture. Yes, follow the PCB.
  19. Erik S

    Not sure what this means

Yup. Just like the picture. Square pads get the stripey ends if you go with the 4148s, short leg if you go with LEDs.
  20. Erik S

    Not sure what this means

Looks like you have the option of 1n4148s using the outer holes, or LEDs using the inner holes. LEDs being Light Emitting Diodes are sometimes used inside a pedal as clipping diodes instead of on the outside for making light.
