Arachnid wet signal faint and distorted

I gave the components a quick once over and they look okay to me, though some of the colors are a little hard to see. Some of those joints appear a bit dry. I circled some examples where I can still see the solder pad fairly clearly. Some look like there might not be any solder at all on them.

    Soldering Belton Brick

Nothing says that you can't solder it directly and most people do. But if you end up needing to troubleshoot a problem then you have to bend it out of the way and the pins are a little thin, so I opted for the better safe than sorry approach.

    Spatialist Reverb Distorting Notes

On the extremely off chance that either of you are still struggling with this 2 years later.... I just built an Octagon and had a problem very similar to the video clip that @Elktronics posted. In my case it was an incorrect resistor value (100K instead of the intended 100R @ R8). Swapped it...

    Soldering Belton Brick

I don't recall. I probably just either used some cutters or hacked at it with an X-Acto knife. I most certainly did not use a saw :)

    Soldering Belton Brick

    Here's how I did it: https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/spirit-box-w-mods.6537/

    Spirit Box doesn't do anything

I went and dug out my spirit box build and put a probe to it and I think you're good to go. I too see the save behavior with R10/R11 and while I might not use the same terms to describe what I'm hearing at the various PT2399 pins, where I'm hearing things matches up. In my case I'd call pins...

    Spirit Box doesn't do anything

So I'll bite on this a bit. The photos aren't really helpful since we can't see the backside. From what I can see though I have some general comments. On the top side of the board some of those joints appear to be a little dry. Ideally the solder should come through the board and be visible...

    Sunn Model-T Preamp (guitarpcb)

The horror is conveniently hidden under the board :) I may throw up a sound clip later today. Using this in combination with a Bellum MKI and a Unicab was doom-a-licious.

    Sunn Model-T Preamp (guitarpcb)

My wife had an Etsy shop for succulent arrangements, it's her's. I just sneak in and use it.

    Sunn Model-T Preamp (guitarpcb)

A while back I was buying something at guitarpcb and saw that they were blowing out the Sunn Model-T preamp boards for ~$2 so I picked one up (I do love me some doom). I don't know why everything on that site has to be labeled "The Best", but I noticed that they released an updated version and...

    Free ProtoBoard (while supplies last)

So this is what I get for actually putting a pedal together this morning rather than hanging out on the internet? It's actually all my fault. I was neck deep in off-board wiring working on a pcb that I got on sale from guitarpcb. Ugh, never again 😀

    Mercurial Boost

You'd think that this wouldn't be all the hard to accomplish, but noooooooo. No single vendor had two different matching sizes in stock. I ended up getting the small ones from SmallBear and the large one from LoveMySwitches and crossed my fingers that they would actually match. I drew the...

    Mercurial Boost

@peccary kept going on and on about the Mercurial and I'm too much of a hack to have strong opinions about anything guitar related, so decided to give it a whirl. It's a super easy, low parts count build. The enclosure was printed and drilled by @amplifyfun. I honestly haven't played with it...

    DeadendFX Hooke (Analog Spring Reverb)

The tank itself just plugs in with two headers, so in that respect, sure. Disconnecting it from the springs and stuff would be a bit of a pain. You could always just wrap the tank in bubble wrap and forget the fancy suspension.

    DeadendFX Hooke (Analog Spring Reverb)

I used the long decay tank. I don't think that I've played with it enough to have a strong opinion yet about ways in which I might wish it were different. I just feel like the knobs look a little cheap. I tried it with some white marshall style knobs and I think they were too small.

Bah, I updated the post with upload photos rather than images inserted from links, just in case.

    DeadendFX Hooke (Analog Spring Reverb)

Ah yes build reports, what we did before we spend all our time trying to win ProtoBoards and talking about what's in the mail :) Getting all the parts together for this one took a bit of time. In the end this is probably the most expensive pedal that I've built. It doesn't have a very high...

    Ticking from SuperHeterodyne Receiver

I was just messing with this again today and realized that I never searched to see if anyone reported the same problem with the EQD Data Corrupter. So this may just be the way it is. I wanted to explore the sagging battery "fix" as I noted above. In lieu of having a power supply to try and...

Water Slide Decal on Sparkle Paint

Model builders will sometimes use decal softening solution. Here's an example: https://www.amazon.com/Micro-Setting-Solution-Microscale-Industries/dp/B0006O9K5Q I don't have any first hand experience with it, but others might.
