During the pandemic I took my carbon copy off the shelf and discovered it was dead. I sent it to MXR and they put a new board in it and didn’t even charge me what they said it would cost.

I took it out of the enclosure and input wire was sandwiched between the gain pot and the enclosure. See the smashed insulation. EDIT: I plugged it in out of the enclosure and have bypass and effect signals. However in effect the LED didn't light up and it doesn't seem to be acting the normal...

I played it on the LED setting for about 30 min today so I am marking this thread SOLVED. Unless it happens again, I am going with one of, or both of, the LEDs being the problem. The ones I got from Stompbox do seem a better quality than the Tayda ones so I will just use them going forward...
