Current Tayda fees after new tariff?

I just placed an order for a big ish restock. I wanted to compare the cost of shipping/tariffs with and without semiconductors. I went through and picked out about $20 of resistors and capacitors and my shipping came out to $21. I then added the op amps, transistors, and diodes I need and my...

    Nein Fuzz 3rd Attempt/Failure

Take your time, go slow. Make sure each component is exactly where you want it before soldering, when you do solder, do it one leg at a time, ie push the capacitor thru, solder one leg, look at the component and see if it needs to be straightened, and if so then hold the board in your hand while...

DEMO Black Angus - Closed Circuit Booster

Love the font and that 3D effect on the lettering. I used Gibson SG witch hat style knobs over a plain black enclosure on my first build of one of these. I have another in the works that will look like the cover of their Bonfire disc set whenever the weather warms up enough to put the clear coat...

    Bring out yer Diptrace

The LED switch could go in the middle, but check out the trace that grounds the input of the pedal when the circuit is bypassed.

    Nein Fuzz 3rd Attempt/Failure

The audio probe cap voltage value really doesn't matter. The main purpose is that it blocks DC and lets enough of the audio signal through. The capacitance rating should be lower though, maybe 10-100nf so it doesn't trim off too much of the signal These are my favorite jacks, but these and...

    Nein Fuzz 3rd Attempt/Failure

The way I view AI is that it's only helpful if you already have a background of experience in the subject matter you're asking of it. I use AI to help me write sentences with good words so I don't sound like a dumbass, but really only if there's one word I just can't think of and the thesaurus...

    Bring out yer Diptrace

yeah it's hard bc I want the footswitch hanging off the end of the board because I like it as far down as possible, so space is limited. If i ran the in/out traces on either side, then the trace connecting the bottom left and bottom right lugs would interfere with the bottom center lug of the...

    The Enchanted Boost bread

JHS has a series of videos on the LPB-1 and Electra circuit, which are similar to this. They go in depth about tweaks to the circuit and are enjoyable to watch. It's on their "Short Circuit" playlist

Current Tayda fees after new tariff?

I'm getting ready to do another Tayda order as well. My past two orders have been from Mouser, where I try to sort thru the components to find ones with no/low tariff. It's a lot easier to just order from Tayda though. Depending on the component and how much quantity I need Tayda is still...

    Bring out yer Diptrace

I'm okay with this being an experiment. A few months ago I made another version of this circuit but in a much more condensed form factor. I'm going to use this circuit as a control as I learn about PCB design, so I can have something constant to compare different layouts. Almost everything I...

Southland/Southern Bell Mach 1/Light Speed Microphonic

When you touch the back of the footswitch, with the pedal plugged into power and both audio jacks, with the footswitch disengaged, does your indicator LED glow weakly?

PedalPCB Little Green Scream Machine/clipping light

Nice job! Love the save with the clipping LED. When I made mine I set it up with a switch to select either 4148's and red LED's, but the LED's sound much better and make the pedal perfect with a strat

    Bring out yer Diptrace

I just sent this into production. It's an MXR Il Diavolo meant for a 125b with all components board mounted. I spent some time dialing in the pad dimensions. Power and ground is on the top layer, and the bottom is signal path. It's meant to mount like a boss pedal, with the components facing...

    LED Behavior in Soft Clipping

You are thinking that the voltage thru the feedback loop is equal to your + input voltage, but it isn't. The voltage at the - input is equal to the + input. But there is a voltage drop across each LED and across the resistors. Therefore, the op amp is producing enough voltage to compensate for...

    Southern Belle (Greer Southland)

I built a southland a while ago and it worked fine. It's a higher gain version of the lightspeed, so it has that squishy sound. But it sounded fine. Perhaps you're missing the second half of the dual op amp?
