    Capacitor “omitted”?

I am about to start building the Lot Lizard Octave Fuzz, and the BOM lists two 47p capacitors, stating that one is omitted on the Nano version and one is omitted on the Big Box version. I am assuming that I would only use one of these (either C3 or C8) in my build? And if I omit one, do I just...

    M800 - Hum

Hello - I’ve just finished the M800 pedal, and am experiencing hum when engaged. I get a clean signal when bypassed, LED comes on when engaged, but no guitar signal and just a loud hum. I’m thinking maybe a ground issue, as when I touch the top of the Q1 transistor the hum is much louder.

SOLVED CheeseMonger Fuzz - Gated fuzz on Modes 1-3

Hello! Just finished my CheeseMonger Fuzz build, and I am experiencing this issue. I get a very gated sputtery fuzz sound on modes 1-3. In fact, they all sound very similar. I only get a fuzz sound when the fuzz knob is dimed; otherwise it’s a fairly clean sound. Mode 4 has a full, loud fuzz...

    Learning more about schematics?

Looking for some help learning & understanding schematics. I am building the PedalPCB Cheesemonger, and realized that I was missing the 1N5 resistor (circled in yellow in the schematic). I've placed an order for one, but would love to know more about what it is doing, and what the impact would...

SOLVED Ginormous Fuzz - no sound - Trim Pot issue?

Hi all - This is my second attempt at building the Ginormous Fuzz. It's a very minimal circuit, so I can't understand why I am struggling so much (there are only so many places it could go wrong). I have sound when bypassed, and the LED comes on when engaged, but I get no sound when engaged...

Pumbaa Distortion - No sound when engaged

My turn to ask for some help. I'm still fairly new to building pedals, and had about 10 pedals that worked great, but suddenly I've been on a bad streak, and this is my 2nd pedal that's got an issue. Building the Pumbaa Distortion, and I get full sound when bypassed. When engaged, the sound is...

    Drill template for Cleric Fuzz?

As mentioned in another post, I am working in the Cleric Fuzz build. However, there are no drill templates available. I’ve purchased the Tayda pre-drilled 3 knob enclosure, which looks like it’ll work for the pots. However, this build also has a toggle switch. Without a drill template...

Correct type of switch to use for Cleric Fuzz? Also, drill template (for switch)?

Hello! I am about to start my build of the Cleric Fuzz, and this will be the first time I've used an ON/ON/ON type of switch. Specifically, my question is whether I use a PCB Mount switch, or a Solder Lug switch? Will either work? Is one preferred? Also, anyone who has built this pedal able to...

Muroidea with no sound when engaged?

Looking for some input as to why I am getting almost no volume when this pedal is engaged. It is the Muroidea pedal from PedalPCB. The only substitution I made was to use the OP07 instead of the LM308. When the pedal is off, I get a full clean tone. When engaged, and even with the volume and...

Noob question regarding soldering LED to PCB

Hi all - I am just starting out in building my own pedals, and had a question regarding which side of the PCB you would solder the LED legs, or if it even matters (as long as you have the polarity correct)? With the components side facing up while mounted, would I run the LED legs through the...

Using prewired LED's with CLR included?

HI all! Still new to sourcing my own parts for builds, and I'm working on building the El Sol Distortion as a first try. I purchased all the components, and began installing, before I looked closer at the specs of the LED purchased from Love My Switches. The LED is a pre-wired LED with a...
