    Triad schematic problem

I love how if you look at the time stamps on my posts, each revelation took almost exactly half an hour :)

    Triad schematic problem

Nevermind, I'm wrong. I just discovered that NPNs come in different pinouts. Disregard or delete my post.

    Triad schematic problem

Do the numbers on the schematic refer to the pins, or do I just go by the symbol for CBE?

    Triad schematic problem

I'm bread boarding the Triad fuzz and the schematic calls for BC548As in Q1-Q3. The pinout is labelled backwards I think. Can someone confirm this? Thanks.

Breadboarding the Montarbo Sinphoton: a not so Big Muff

Cool stuff. Looking forward to trying this out.

    Hakko FX-951

Off topic but I've never used lead free solder. Why would you use it, and why would you need a different tip?

SOLVED General Tso's comp - not 'flashy' enough?

I know I'm late to the party but I had a similar experience with the green LEDs from Tayda. Very dim indeed. I ended up using some red LEDs since they were brighter and the LDRs I had were sensitive in that wavelength. The pedal sounds great, but I'm always wondering "what if?" The problem...

First vero build adventure - Plecostomus

The pots were the issue. I found that they were a little askew going through the holes I drilled. When I tightened them down they flexed on the board and were shorting with other components/traces. I put some electrical tape down, and loosened the nuts on the pots a little. Voila: fuzzy...

I Need a Better Clear Coat...

I used "Model Master" enamel top coat. They sell it at my local D&D hobby shop for the little figurines. It works great if you do two or three light coats at room temp. If you spray too thick it gets crackled looking. But it gets fully hardened in a couple hours. I got impatient on one...

First vero build adventure - Plecostomus

Well I took the Plecostomus fuzz that I tested on my protoboard and made a layout using DIYLC. It was a super fun puzzle experience. I decided to make it challenging by fitting it all onto a 17x19 piece of strip board. After about a day of doing the layout ( I finally surrendered and just...

    Pedals for bass guitar?

The amentum is fire. Hasn't left my board since I built it. I would love to hear it on bass though. It adds a ton of presence on guitar. Maybe google EQD Arrows bass demo?

War Scythe, minor issues but great fuzz

I had the same issue with weak octave on mine. I did not use diodes with matched forward voltage. Does anyone know if that makes a difference as far as the octave performance in this circuit? No high pitched noise on mine though.

    Plecostomus Fuzz breadboard/ProtoBoard

Two things here: built the ProtoBoard, and my first successful circuit on a breadboard. Wasn't as hard as I thought, but it's a fairly simple circuit. Sounds very nice. Sorry for the crappy pic, but it's just a humble brag post anyway. Thanks to everyone who answered my questions about...

    Finished a Sanguine tonight

Love the demo. I need to try more of my pedals on bass.

    Protoboard

I like how you mounted it on a cutting board. Where did you get those nice plastic clips?

    Basic schematics question

This article had the exact information I was confused about. Can't believe I missed it. I'm absolutely sure it's linked to elsewhere in this forum, but in any case, here it is: http://diy.smallbearelec.com/HowTos/BreadboardICDist/ICDist.htm Hope it helps someone else! I'll add it to OP as well.

    Basic schematics question

I'm planning to. There were lots of examples on breadboard in the literature linked to above, but they didn't look exactly like the schematic shown. I figure the only way to learn is to try to construct a circuit from the schematic. I just ordered my first breadboard and can't wait to start...

    Basic schematics question

Ok so if the VCC would be like the + rail on a breadboard and the ground would be the end of the - rail, would D100 just be between the + from the jack and the + rail? Getting closer

    Basic schematics question

Thanks for all the great reading material. I've looked it over and I still have some questions. Here is an example of my confusion: I know that VCC is the common voltage source, and that the three line arrow is the ground. I know that the LED is wired to the switch and that R100 is the CLR...

    Basic schematics question

..yeah but that's an above average dog. I'm just a regular dog. Proof: I actually googled the title.
