DEMO AionFx Flange with No Name

This post contains an audio or video demo
sounds cool, but that board gives me big fat bag of nope on trying to build it. I might try it AFTER everything else is FINALY done... I'd agree with the build notes, drive anybody bats just biasing this monster.. more than a golf clap for your efforts good sir!

I think the effects loop really sends this pedal over the edge the of spectacular. I have just used a delay pedal, but will try some dirt next.

The biasing is not difficult. If you have done other BBD boards, you can do this easily. Many thanks for the compliment.
 
Well I knew right away the demo was Metallica, but honestly what first came to mind was "Nothing Else Matters". 😸


My only exposure to the band was a bunch of my friends were into it.

Hey, hope I can ask you for a bit of help and / or advice - Finished this build yesterday... and surprise surprise it doesn't work :) I've built 150+ pedals and never ended up with a build that doesnt work (including couple Aion Lovetone builds) so I really hope I can get this one working as well.

3PDT LEDs light up, space and time ones pulse in tempo with the rate, SPDT switches seems to work, pedal passes signal through but there is no base LFO modulation. Space switch engaged works as a tremolo but Time doesn't seem to create any chorus / flange modulations. I checked IC orientation, polarity of all components, triple and quadruple checked all wiring. I made sure I used a working MN3207 and MN3102 set from a chorus pedal I built a while ago.

Looking inside I noticed couple of things - Space 3pdt engages the internal LED 1&2 which pulse along Rate control, Time 3pdt turns the internal LED 3 on but this one doesnt pulse at all. Neither bias nor regen trimpots do any difference. I tried to follow the biasing instructions but having no LFO on any BDD trim setting not much I can do. The LED on the BBD sub board lights up and pulses with varying speed depending on Manual, Rate and Depth. Would you mind checking if the LED3 on main board (one that lights up along with Time 3PDT) follows same rate as the external Time 3PDT LED? Schematic is pretty intense and I'm trying to understand what could be the culprit... Any advice would be more than appreciated :)
 
Adding few pics of the build in case it helps to have a look - perhaps one of you Guys can see something obvious I'm missing while staring at this board for too much time now.

Suggest you post this issue (and all of your pics) in a new thread in the Troubleshooting forum. People here are incredibly generous in their willingness to help - but it will get much more visibility there as a dedicated topic rather than buried here at the end of someone else's build thread.
