Had some success this weekend with a few builds completed. Was trying to knock out an envelope pedal too but I didnt have any 10K trimmers to finish

Maybe it's a trend and maybe the circuit happens to work really good with a lot of people setups.. Personally I've built quite a mix of Overdrives and every time my ears go right back to a Klon style circuit for my particular rig/taste. There's a reason why the market is flooded with them... there's something in there besides the hype "So and so plays one" is not why I like it...
