Any new concerts you're looking forward to (formerly 2023 concerts)

I have my ticket to go see this band called Dusk next Thursday in Toronto. I didn’t know cool shit was allowed to happen here anymore, so I am dusting off my sorry carcass and joining humanity in this weird place called “outside.”

The last show I remember seeing was Lucinda Williams at Massey Hall before my kid was born. She‘s turning 8. It’s time 😂
I'm so psyched that you're going to it

I’m seeing Tortoise tonight. One of my favorite bands.

Earlier this year I went to see Feist and it was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. She just announced the last leg of the tour in Canada and West Coast U.S. I don’t want to spoil the show, but I recommend going!

Sometimes the exhilaration of seeing someone this good outweighs the depression of knowing that either hand of his can make more music than both of mine ever will... And, at my all time favorite venue, Freight and Salvage. If I measure performances by how long I keep a shit-eating grin on my face, the Freight has by far the highest numbers.
Well, this was better than I was expecting. I want familiar with him until a friend
nd asked if I wanted to go see him—so I looked at a the Video that the venue had linked (the one I attached above) and said “sure.”

He didn’t have that guitar with extra slide neck with him. Most songs were played on the 6 string that’s in the video, but, like in this video, he often picked at, brushed, (or for one song, too off his shoe and was kicking bass chords on a triple necked guitar that was on its stand. I don’t know how his guitar tops last—he does that whole flamenco banging thing, quite hard.

in addition to bring really in control of his appendages, he was quite funny. I’d pay to see him do stand up. He lives in a Nashville now; any of you that live around there should keep an eye out for performances. Especially if you like Muse, Lincoln Park, etc—which I really don’t, and if I needed to fault the concert, it would be the sameness in about half of what he played. The closest act I’ve seen to him is Rodrego y Gabriela; as crazy as this sounds, he plays like both of them at once.

How utterly depressing.

What doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger. Parenting is like playing Diablo video games on the hardest Nightmare setting. It’s unfair how many obstacles you have to juggle to stay afloat. Feel better!
Funny, my wife was just saying the other day that she hated that phrase because sometimes "what doesn't kill us leaves us traumatized, broken and useless." I'm more like "what doesn't kill us grinds us down into a delicious paste to be fed to the wealthy."

Well, seems like there is always another phase coming... my kids are entering the teen phase, and it looks like they love it so much I don't know when it will end.

Jokes on the wealthy if they ingest this delicious paste. My body was never a temple, it’s beyond desecrated. They might like the taste but they will die a fast painful death ingesting this toxic ass paste. Bon apetit! Compliments to the chef

The show I didn't know I was looking forward to... me... singing 'Skulls' by the Misfits with Punk Rock Karaoke on the Salty Dog cruise this past couple days. Sharing a stage with Greg Hetson (Circle Jerks/Bad Religion), Stan Lee (Dickies), Randy Bradbury (Pennywise), and Darrin Pfeiffer (Goldfinger) was amazing. The first time I have ever sung in front of people. I will throw video up once I get it from people.

Very true of me last week.

Only other one I have tix for so far is NIN in the fall.

Some that I’m planning on hopefully seeing tho are:

  • DEVO
  • Franz Ferdinand (if I can get in for free; my future brother-in-law works the venue)
  • Todd Rundgren/Tribute to Burt Bacharach
  • All-star tribute to Robert Fripp’s ‘Exposure’
  • Neil Young
  • Outlaw Festival (Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Wilco)
  • Weird Al
  • Herb Alpert
  • The Aristocrats (they’re playing a tiny dive near me)

Here’s a few pics of Kraftwerk last night!

I was hoping to see the Surfrajettes because I missed them last year, but they're skipping Indiana this time :|

My gf and I are going to see Dwight Yoakam next week. I need to look up some more tour dates for people I want to see. She was going to get me tickets to see Hayes Carll, but she didn't (I can't remember why). He's doing an acoustic tour or something right now and I'd rather see him with his band.
