Anyone else built the Sugarbag OD?

I'm quite pleasantly surprised at just how much I like it so far. It's not as mushy as I had imagined. But it's also not particularly high-gain That's fine by me, but I also assumed that it would have more gain than it appears to have. It's quite clean for the first half of the gain knob's travel. As such it makes for a decent booster but I was expecting more dirt.

I have 5.71V on the left J113 and 5.61V on the middle one. So I don't think Jfet bias is an issue.

If it's just not as high-gain as I was expecting that's fine. I was just surprised.

Yeah it's a common surprise, my understanding is that it just is really low gain and that one Rabea demo where he uses it to boost a dirty amp even further into high gain is very misleading for people https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/sugarbag-project-issues.5809/

I haven't built mine yet, but it's in the queue, as you could maybe guess from my avatar (took it from the graphics I made for the pedal).

Oh ok that's cool! And as I mentioned it does make a pretty decent booster. I just tried it with my Les Paul and think it definitely likes the P90s on my Casino better.

It has been talked about that Rab's amp was breaking up prior to the Pedal being activated so a misled demo was at hand for sure!
That's why I look for Demo's that show the Amp sound prior to the Pedal being activated.
