Anyone Else Diggin' the New "Fallout" Series on Amazon Prime?

I'm on ep. 3 — I'm taking it slow, for attention span purposes, Can't binge when I want to pay attention.

It's got a lot of things going for it so far. I'm curious to see what sort of direction they go and if they have some new lore-friendly ideas, or if they're going to rehash old ideas.

You have to understand that I'm terribly biased, though: I'm a big fan of 1, 2, and New Vegas, if that says anything…

I have no clue what game you all are referencing, but I have seen that in my Prime stream, I'll have to check it out.

i watched 8 episodes in a row, i loved it. I was impressed by all the tiny details, just like in the game. Rad Away, Stimpacks, the food, etc.

And the great music from the games !

The only difference i noticed is that the Brotherhood of Steel is a bit more evil in the tv show, with some brutal hierarchy that i never saw in the game. And it's a good idea.

The actor playing the ghoul is just great, impressive. The actress playing the main character is good, but kind of average. I'd say the same about Maximus : he does the job quite well but i wont say he is brilliant compared to other actors and actresses in the show.

Each episode is approximately 50 min, but the end credits are super long, like 10 or 15 minutes. That and the quick recap at the beggining of each episodes are cutting a lot of time. I 'd say 1 episode takes 35 minutes really.

Edit : during the whole show, looking at the ghoul make-up was quite disturbing, with this hole instead of a nose, aaaaaah !

I played fallout 3. I watched the first 3 episodes. I love it so far. It definitely captures the feel of the games. Great show so far.

Finished the last episode (#8) early this morning. Fantastic sceneries/backgrounds & story lines that follow the trend & demeanor of the Fallout games. That last shot of episode #8 where the Ghoul is looking down at New Vegas. Very likely gonna be a season 2 adventure.

I'm what you might call a Fallout super fan. I'm keeping my expectations at bay given how video game adaptions usually turn out, but the trailers looked great and I'll definitely give it a chance after hearing the praise. I hope it keeps some of the edge and social critiques from the source material.

I don't mean to be rude, but please format any other spoilers with the inline spoiler formatting. Thank you.

Like this, please.

S'OK - not rude IMO. Didn't think of it as only sort of spoiler really. It's literally just last 1 second of the last episode of this first season. He (the Ghoul) rises over a hill/ridge top and sees the New Vegas skyline in the distance. Then fades to black. The end. The trailers have far more content than what I revealed.

But, sure, can do with that blur-out feature going forward.

fallout's heyday was during a time period I wasn't playing video games so I'm watching this with bare minimal backstory ... I like it, not as much as I'm liking Shogun but considering how little content is out there I feel a bit spoiled right now that even this much is watch-worthy

i always find great tv shows, but i have to look for it. There are so much things out there that the quality work isn't always easy to find. But there are lots and lots of great shows.

For example i just discovered Parish with GianCarlo Esposito (from breaking bad, etc.) it's great, this actor is amazing.

The Boys was interesting too, with a singular angle on american super heroes.

Succession is amazing, probably the best work i've seen in years, actors are all very impressive, near perfection. I think one among them even got a bit disturbed because he went too far into his character.... The topic is very interesting, relationships between news empires (probably based on Murdock and Fox news) and political power. Some scenes are just brilliant and as sharp and realistic as a documentary.

I could go on and on for hours...
