I saw Behringer announced a new analogue delay the other day

What interested me was the discussion of the BBD chip. They mention finding a chip that "can produce the same sound, but isn't rare to find" (paraphrased slightly). Doesn't Behringer own CoolAudio though, which makes a repro BBD chip? I'm curious if that's what they are using in this case, or they are using something else entirely.

If they were using the CA BBD, why not say they are making a "faithful reproduction" of the chip or something similar, you would think that would give more marketing kudos than just saying "a similar sound".

This thing is a knock-off of the Moog MF-104, the original version of which used the MN3005 (i.e. the “magic mojo” chip from the old Memory Man).

Xvive make a (pricey) reissue of the MN3005, but CoolAudio do not.

They likely chose a CoolAudio BBD that was “close enough” and are just trying to preempt people pointing out that it’s not a 1-to-1 clone.

I appreciate the idea but that would be literally four times as expensive for me. Not saying I would buy a BM-14M in the first place... but that's a huge price difference.

Looks nice but repeats are super distorted, so my guess is they are using the v3205

I had literally no plans to buy this. I was just curious about the marketing and what chips they were using.

Re: the delay, I already splashed out for some Xvive chips and a Madbean Skoolie PCB, so I’m good.

I dunno I think it looks interesting. The dude had the drive cranked so who knows how it really sounds. None in the USA to try yet.

CoolAudio is under the same banner as behringer. Music Tribe. It’s safe to assume V3205’s are the BBD of choice in this instance.

I preordered one of these a few weeks ago without hearing any demos. I’ll record some clips once I finally get it. I’ve always loved the Moogerfooger delay but the price gives me chills. I wish I had bought one like 15 years ago. Sigh.

This demo is pretty good. The BM definitely sounds different than the Moogerfooger, possibly worse, but it still sounds pretty good. The Moog sounds amazing tho. I am looking forward to getting this so I can judge for myself!
