Bellum Fuzz MK1 light stuck on

Here's the audio pathway as I understand it (open to correction from anyone better versed with this specific circuit):

This is quite an ambitious circuit for a relative newcomer, if I may say so. Oddly enough, transistor-based circuits which appear simple on the face of it can turn out trickier than what one might expect. But bravo again, keep at it and let's try to get this functioning.

just bought the 100nf cap for an audio probe. I'm gonna fix the potentiometer soldering and then touch up some of my sloppier connections.
All good. Maybe try the audio probe first, idea being that it might isolate exactly where the problem lies. Then you can touch things up with purpose. Also consider carefully cleaning the board (people use isopropyl alcohol and kitchen paper or cotton buds for this, among other solutions) because you can then inspect visually and get a better idea of suspect joints (so to speak).

But obviously whatever works for you is best.

good news: the audio probe worked and it detected that i didn't have anything stopping the signal from going through

bad news: it sounds like this
Yeah, that doesn't sound quite right.

Regarding the audio probe, you'll need to track the audio progress a bit more carefully (that is, step by step). We need to determine where exactly the audio starts to sound 'funny' (like your demo). That narrows the problem(s) down considerably.
