Binder for PCB storage

Anyone use binders with 9-pocket trading card binder pages to hold your PCBs in? I have too many PCBs to keep track of, and it seems like organizing my PCBs better would make me more likely to actually build them— currently I have to sort through a bunch, and since PPCB boards don’t have the name on them, I have to search a bunch of pcbXXX numbers to find the one I’m looking for. Was thinking of putting them in binders, sorted by effect-type, and labeling each pocket with masking tape to denote what circuit each board is.

Looks like most of these are for cards that are 2.5x3.5” big, and I’m pretty sure like 80% of the boards for 125b sized builds are less than 3.5” tall, so in theory they should work. Bigger boards like 1590BB and full-length/horizontal 125B boards could go in larger 4-pocket or 3-pocket sheets.

Anyone try this? Have any issues with the PCBs busting through the pockets? Not sure how robust any of those card protector sheets are— if any of yall are big Pokémon/MTG/Yugioh/Baseball card collectors and have experience with a specific brand of sleeves, please lmk!

I started storing most of my pcbs in a binder like that a few months ago. going good so far. no issues. not sure what brand of pocket holders i got. I grabbed whatever was cheap on amazon probably.

if you have a Daiso nearby, they have a lot of options and sizes. Probably need to use their binder.

Works great. Just don’t turn it upside down.

You can fit a few big boards in the pockets on the covers.

Nothing wrong with blue boxes and shoes boxes but the binder makes it easier to find a specific PCB when you need a quick fix or just need to check and see if you already own a pcb so you dont buy two on accident.. I still keep the bigger pcbs in various blue boxes.

I build my PCBs as soon as I get them because there's always one or two components I need to order. I keep the finished boards in a box and try not to let the collection get too bad. I probably have 10 or 15 unfinished projects that need enclosures. I've been meaning to do another batch but stuff keeps getting in the way...

Wife bought me a lunch box that looks like a fender amp. I just randomly dump them all in there and dig and curse when i am looking for one.
