CONTEST Buddy's Contest

This is the schematic so far. Still tweaking it a bunch and plan to add the switches for clipping options and tone options on the fuzz.

Ya, I just noticed that I didn't put in the right values and omitted a couple as well.

It's supposed to be based on the EA Tremolo. The Trem Speed works great, but I haven't dialed in the Depth yet.

This is what I have now, and it works pretty good!

I’m working on adding a footswitch to activate the tremolo circuit in my Fuzzolo. It will bypass the circuit initially, and also control the LED that flashes along with the trem speed.

Right now I’m at 6 knobs, a switch, 2 LEDs, and 2 footswitches. Will that all fit in a 125B?

Hmm…Let’s see. For reference, a PPCB build can house 6 knobs, a LED, and a footswitch no problem. Check out the Dark Rift Delay or M800 PCBs.

6 knobs, 2 LEDs, 2 stomp switches, and a toggle switch? You’ll have to be very crafty boxing it all up and……screw it, I’ll allow it.

I have to travel for the next couple of weeks and won't be able to do much more work on this, so I'll drop what I have here so far.

It's a combination of modded Jordan Bosstone and an EA Tremolo with the ability to activate either circuit individually or independently. It's been breadboarded only so far, but I'd love to make a pcb from it sometime. The Bosstone side sounds pretty cool alone, and adding the trem with the Depth at 0 works as a boost. The Tremolo LED works as showing the circuit is activated and flashes with the rate simultaneously.

I've added a simple Sag and BMP tone control to the Bosstone. I'll have to measure Q1 and 2 to see what I used, but it sounds really awesome through my Princeton and super through the Twin.

Here's how I would box it up:

Edit: fixed Q6

Oops, it is drawn backwards. Wasn’t really paying attention I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

*Mirrors Q6*

I updated the schematic up there. Thanks for seeing that.

I'm diggin' your Fuzzolo, homebrewtj, and the name is great!

Name makes me think of the time I tried a Zvex Fuzzolo at Guitar Sofa.
Thanks man! It was so much fun to make. I learned how to breadboard and combine the circuits and very happy that it all works.

Maybe I should rename it to ‘Fuzzemolo’ since there’s already one with that name. Fuzzolo just sounds cooler though. Or ‘Fuzzomélo’ pronounced with a big Italian accent like a pasta dish.

The Debbie Boost. Named after my girlfriend in college because she was only a little bit dirty. This simple boost circuit can run clean or blend in a small amount of low-order harmonics to enrich the sound. Definitely a subtle effect. VR2 could be an internal trimmer. Any low-noise single opamp will work, I used an LF351 on the breadboard. GAIN range is 6dB to 31dB. You can run it on 18V for additional output & headroom if desired.

Here's my attempt to make a fuzz face with a range finder boost after it. Haven't breadboarded it yet only cause in still looking for higher gain NPN GE for Q2 of the Fuzz Face. Both circuits are made for NPN GEs. Going to wait till i can get my hands on that high gain tranny to breadboard it. Removed the Charge pump on both circuits since im using NPNs.
