I played it for a while, and it held together. I didn't abuse it or anything. Sold one on Reverb and never heard back from the buyer, so it must still be ok. Even the metal cases will break if you stomp them hard enough. I saw Yngwie Malmsteen a couple of years ago in a small club and he was selling a couple broken, autographed pedals.Try again. He also doesn’t talk about the durability like I thought I remembered

Yea I pay close attention to making sure non polarized components are all oriented the same way. Resistors read left to right or up to down, same with capacitors. I make mess it up sometimes but don’t sweat it.
I do, however, really like differentiation between components, especially different colored capacitors.

Haha! I get annoyed when I see I've put a resistor the "wrong" way around (you know they're directional, don't you?) but I refuse to change it. I won't give in to my OCD.
And years ago I went to a Hoodoo Gurus gig and we had to leave a few songs in because our equilibrium was being disturbed by the volume. I've never been to such a loud gig. Thinking about all the loud gigs I went to before the volume police took over I should be deaf by now. These days many gigs aren't loud enough. Protecting ears is important but so is rock'n'roll. They over-compensate at a lot of gigs and the band gets drowned out by the audience singing along. That really shits me!
