Chupacabra - Red Llama or no?

I feel like I gave Mythos too much credit for having worked with Snyder but damn they’re about as unoriginal and boring as JHS.
I was under the impression that pretty much all Mythos circuits are just other circuits with a new name slapped on it?

At least JHS does pedals that weren't done before them, sure the TS/Muff multipedals aren't original as such, but those weren't available before. Or the mixer/tape deck style pedals.

I personally haven’t seen anything JHS puts out that wasn’t done before other than MAYBE the Crayon/color box. And I truly wouldn’t care if it wasn’t for the fact that Josh Scott is kind of insufferable imo and claims that “90%” of their catalog is original. I mean I get it’s a “don’t hate the player hate the game” situation, there’s just something I find very off putting about the guy. Just my opinion, not trying to slander anybody or whatever.

Were there similar multi-Muff or TS pedals available before JHS? Sure could have been, I just don't know about them.

I think Josh's "problem" is that he comes across as a bit smug. I don't really mind him. But I don't really find his pedals very compelling either.

Pretty sure Mythos is a one-guy operation. I don't think he's much of a pedal designer - his pedals are super derivative to the point where the only reason to buy one is to get a Klon which isn't $10K. His marketing is decent and he has made the most of getting to know prominent Youtube players.

"The Chupacabra takes it's tonal inspiration by the biggest little band from Texas." is a bit of a stretch since it's just a Red Llama... That's what I don't like about their marketing. Although to be fair, it isn't as bad as I remembered now browsing the website, and if a component or two are changed, you could argue those changes were aiming to take it more towards ZZ Top.

What irked me about mythos was his claims the Golden Fleece and high road fuzzes were designed completely from scratch and it just an electra. I suppose the truth does sell pedals.
