Classic fuzzes?

Further to Mentaltossflycoon's post, should you move a circuit beyond the breadboard...

ERS Graphic — ELS OSCillot PCB
Umi Buzztone — vero or adapt to a fuzzface, buzzaround or similar board
Heathkit TA-28 — vero ( 2 different layouts )
Roland FunnyCat — used to be a PCB from "3PDT", alas it was ditched before I could snag one. So... VERO, 2 different layouts
Moonrock — Moonstone DEFX PCB

I can't really talk about classic fuzzes as such - personally I feel more drawn towards pedals that have improved on specific classic pedal circuits, but I understood that's also what you are looking for.

I'd like to give another vote for the Stoner Bee which is based on the Bee Baa I believe, quite liked that one. In a similar vein, I liked the Barbarian Fuzz https://dirtboxlayouts.blogspot.com/2023/07/fuzzhead-fx-barbarian-fuzz.html which I don't know of any PCB's for. That one is based on the Roland Double Beat, which I frankly know nothing about. It's not a nice sounding fuzz, it has a lot of it's own character.

Also another shout out for the Scarab Deluxe, that one is great. I'm not a huge fan of old school octave fuzzes, but the Octaking (which I think is an expanded Roger Mayer Octavia) was quite nice. I feel like the old school octave fuzzes are more for playing lead which I don't do much.

Also the Fuzz Cadet is very nice, and for muffs of course the Kewpie for muffs. I was also very pleasantly surprised by the Sasquatch II from Effects Layouts, not sure if it's the germanium or not but the actual muff tone was great, and the octave plays very nicely with it to my taste.

Although tbh for muffs you should probably just breadboard your favorite tone stack/mid control and build that instead of doing them blindly.

The Companion is fantastic. Add a booster to it cause it doesn't reach unity.
I rewired the Fuzz pot like in a Fuzzrite but honestly it still doesn't do much. I would just leave it out and max it.
Monster sound but It gets some cool dark tones on cleanup.

Definitely build the Ge Fuzzrite and add a bass control with a 250k pot in series with the 15k going to ground.

Someone tell me more about the triple Fuzzrite.

My fave amongst the oldies is the Marshall Supa Fuzz - Just a beefed up Tonebender. Sounds a bit like a primitive Big Muff. But the only Fuzzes I ever use (not really a fuzz guy) are the Scarab Deluxe or the Alter Destiny, my favourite Muff-style pedal.
