Aren't all muff-derivatives "inspired by an old and rare big muff"?

I've built countless versions of Big Muff, And yes they all sound a bit different but they all still sound like a Big Muff. And the dumbest thing about all of this is that I don't really use Big Muffs.

I wonder which is the most copied/modified pedal circuit? I used to assume that it was a Tube Screamer, but damn there are a lot of Big Muff variants around. And lately it's been Timmy. At least some of the Timmy variants are taking it further from the source. TSV808, The Dane, Blues Power, many more - all Timmy derivatives.

The Timmy clipping stage looks an awful lot like a TS. Just saying..

I do love the sound of a Muff but it's too intense for my playing style.

I mainly like them with Strats, but I don't play Strats much. My fave mod is to remove the clipping diodes from one gain stage.
