COT50

This has been on my "to build" list for almost 10 years and finally got to it (my new year's resolution was to finish some of these old ones before buying more PCBs). I used a BD139 transistor, which has a different pinout than most, and I accommodated by using my own layout--I've done many stripboards from tagboardeffects, but this is my first from scratch.

Wiring is a bit messy as my stripboard builds tend to be. Reused an enclosure from a Green Ringer (which was a no-knob pedal with a single led where the knob now is). I pulled the GR out because I didn't ever use it, and I liked this surf-green enclosure. I used to leave room for a battery under the switch--even though I never use batteries. That really wastes space that could be used by the circuit. It ended up barely fitting it.

It sounds pretty decent. If you don't know the COT50 it's basically an electra distortion voiced to give a slight boost, with the knob adding more grit (adjusts the bias).
