Dallas Rangemaster [vero]

Just the bare bones, but it works well and was a fun build. Shout out to Steve at SB for the schematic and transistor.
The switch wiring is crap, but as I said it works 🤪

How does it sound? Also, just out of curiosity, what did you set the bias to?
It sounded exactly like a 200Hz sine wave when I benched it so that is promising. I'll let you know how a guitar sounds through it today. ;)
I ended up biasing the collector right a 7 volts using resistors rather than a trimpot to save on a bit of space.
I could have reduced the board by 2 rows but it fit fine. I thought about hard-wiring my next project, so would will also probably be a simple one. We'll see!

Neat! That's exactly how I did my "mojo" Rangemaster too:

It's finally today! It was surprisingly quiet, and sounds pretty amazing considering it's only 8 components.
I managed to wire the new pot in reverse, but it's fine as a reverse-taper.

I should probably vero that Maestro on the BB and box it up too. I zapped a Ge messing with a trimpot. I have a suitable replacement, just have to get in gear.

That knob is absolutely bonkers Tim. Love it. I bet it’s great for adjusting it with your foot as you play.
