I'm back wasn't expecting to build another pedal as I have waaaaaaaaaay to many now.
- How critical is the 500k dark? I have a some of LDR KE-10720 laying around.
- Looking at the parts list. Is it safe to assume D1 and D2 is D6 and D7? That D5 is used with the LDR?
- Is the LDR bent so it faces the LED? If I 3d Print an enclosure for the LDR/LED what if any affect would that have it.

I don't know how critical that substitution would be, but you could try it and see.

In general, I think the speed of the led/ldr combo (or vatrol) is more important in a compressor than in a phaser/tremolo/vibe type pedal.

sealing off the LDR from ambient light is important, but usually that is not a problem for something on the bottom side of a pcb when the enclosure is sealed. probably more of an issue if you had other LEDs lighting up on that side of the board either in another ldr/led pair of in a clipping circuit.
