Build a matsumin valvecaster! This was the first circuit I ever built some 15 years ago, way before I got into building pedals; I was more focused on tube amps at the time.

I found the original in a storage box in my basement. I used a Radio Shack plastic electronics project enclosure for it. It looked fairly ghetto so I decided to revisit the circuit and make it a combo OD.

This thing is loud as all hell for a starved cathode tube circuit. I could hear the electrons breath sighs of relief as they avoided the crystal lettuce. The ghost of Dumble appeared to give me a thumbs up.

For those who have not tried, this is a worthwhile build!

Hardly! This build is as simple as it gets.

It's a tight fit and my wiring was much neater until I had to resolder the tone pots (they're wired backwards in this diagram.)

Looks great! Valvecaster was the first circuit I ever built too Needless to say it was a slippery slope, and my pedalboard power supply now strains under the load of 11 tubes

I've seen a couple layouts people have done over the years, but yeah I don't think anyone really did a commercial PCB project for it. It would be a pretty good one for someone trying to practice their layout skills. It has the added complexity of a tube socket but otherwise a very simple circuit.
