I have an Electrovibe. With a 9v power supply, the effect is barely audible.
The power supply tests at 9.38v. I tested the voltages coming out of the power section: +12.03v and +17.14v, instead of +15v and +18v per the schematic
I briefly plugged it into a 12v power supply to rule out whether the low voltage issue is the cause of the underwhelming effect. The voltages were too high, but the effect worked. The LT1054CP maximum operating range is 15v, so I figured that would be safe. I'm wondering if it would sound better at the right voltage though.
I double-checked all of the components in the power supply section. Everything is correct there. I tried swapping out the LT1054 for a different one and the result is the same.
Does anyone have any suggestions for further troubleshooting?
@Big Monk - you know this circuit very well... Do you have any thoughts on why this might be happening?
