Enclosure ideas

speaking of all of this— anyone know of a source for a Shatterbox style enclosure? All of the folded wedge enclosures I’ve found are already punched for one central footswitch.

You could always cut a piece of sheet metal or acrylic in a different colour as a faceplate for that sloping bit to cover the existing holes. Use double sided tape to prevent it rattling and keep it in place with the central footswitch.

The LMB Heeger MDC752 is probably the best off-the-shelf Shatterbox option. You can get them at Digikey:

Visually, it doesn't have the funky aspects of the shatterbox, but size-wise it's actually a damn good match. A gold painted build would look pretty good. That being said, I actually wouldn't recommend using it - it's made of thin aluminum (~1mm thick) which is already pretty questionable for smaller sizes, but for a massive enclosure like that, stomping on it is asking for trouble. It's going to noticeably flex at the very least.

If you're willing to rig up some interior support around the switches it might be alright. I may give that a try myself at some point.

If you can't tell, I've given some thought to doing an old school shatterbox build myself. If not the MDC752, I'm probably either gonna gut a BPC version (probably not - too expensive) or maybe just compromise and do it in the sloped Hammond style people have mentioned:

That's quite a bit smaller, but the Shatterbox is obnoxiously large anyway.
