I laughed, but I don't. I'm pretty sure every design I want was well-established before 1970. I was an old man by the time I was 19.



I've been jones-ing for a hardtail Duo Jet for a long, long time.



If I recall correctly, they already tried it in the US and lost in 2009. That might have been based on a different legal theory, though.



The thing with mass-produced guitars is that plenty of them are barely passing inspection. At the same time, through luck and circumstances, some of them are excellent. I've played a Classic Vibe or two that play as well as anything coming out of Fullerton. I guess I'm still old, but I've never bought a guitar without playing it first.

I've pontificated on this recently, but my blood pressure goes up every time I see a title about somebody being "exposed", "panicking", or "crashing out".

That's one of the movies that you feel like you've narrowly survived a life-threatening situation when it's over. Even Jennifer Connolly's other-worldly beauty isn't enough to make that one a nice watch. A very good movie, don't get me wrong, but rough on the nerves.

I’m not a Clapton fan, but he is / was influential in music and seems to only play a Strat these days.
 
I am a bit late to this topic. I understand the difference between the situation in Europe and the US (generally). Does this move by Fender mean that they are trying to stop, amongst others, companies like PRS and Suhr, form selling in Europe? And even maybe in the US?
 
Who knows what's they mean to do in the long run.

For background, you're better off to read the rulings, find correct sources, and come to a conclusion based on facts. Don't listen to the poison from influencers, don't give into the negativity, don't let the bedbugs bite.

Unless Fender gets so much blowback that it hurts its bottom line, or they fear that it will, their legal team will most likely continue to limit competition as much as it can. They'll start with the low-hanging fruit and then look to expand their victories with tougher cases for them to win.
 
Strat + Bigsby is very cool. Except that I do quite like a Strat vibrato and the Bigsby has to be a tension bar version. While I LOVE a B3 or B6 Bigsby those with the tension bar lose all the feel and usefulness IMO. My Duo Jet and 6120 with Bigsby tailpieces stay in tune just as well as my Strat does. I suspect the Serpentune Tru-Arc bar bridges help a bit.
