A BMP with no clipping diodes. Or gain-limiting resistors. Must have tons of sustain.
Might sound interesting with germanium transistors for Q2-Q4.

Yeah tons of sustain...
I might try that I got a couple more boards on the way...
what kinda hFE you think might sound good???

Without changing resistors, you'll want low leakage and low to medium hFE. The collector voltages should land somewhere in the middle, 3V to 6V is a good place to start. Then let your ears be your guide. I'd leave Q1 silicon to keep the noise down.
