I have not been able to find these in stock anywhere. Is there a production shortage?

Yes. There’s a global silicon shortage and the FV-1 is affected. I’ve heard of people with small scheduled orders for late summer fulfillment with more availability in fall/winter.

A batch just dropped recently at a few online shops, they sold out quickly though...within a couple of days.

They'll still pop up, but you'll either need to sign up for in-stock alerts and/or bookmark & check often.

I got lucky and was able to pick up what I needed from antique electronic supply with the last batch they had.

Persistence, might be a month or two of searching, and you gotta jump on it fast.

I've ordered one on Friday from Pedal Parts based on a comment in another thread for FV-1. Was processed and marked as shipped yesterday. Would normally have waited to be in stock here, but I'm eager to build that Hydra, and the 15% sale offsets the added shipping ;)

Edit: would have liked the pre-soldered option, as I'm a lazy oaf, but with a flux pen and fine solder, it's not difficult. You just need to take your time and be precise.

Interesting. When I look at their website. I only see enclosures. Do you have a link?

The hydra is definitely worth it!

I'm guessing the shortage is also affecting availability of other IC's? I haven't been able to fine the chips to build a CE-2 anywhere

Yeah V3207s are impossible to find right now.

via Ross @StompBoxParts, when I asked:
“I cry about V3207D every day.”

via Smallbear:
This part is currently out of stock at the manufacturer and is not expected to be available for at least six (6) months, due to a shortage of raw materials.”

Kind of different...I tried to make an order there...I got the screen of some guy in a scarf giving me a thumbs up, and saying the manager would contact me...but was never sent to PayPal...was your experience similar?

I'm pretty sure that the Russians are now in charge of your bank accounts.

I received the Paypal fund request 2-3 days after my order

Page Two...

I got an email from The Manager that simply read "3207 out of stock". Disappointing but not surprising, but what of the rest of my order? I wrote back and asked that very thing, to which came the response "I will let you know".

That was 3 weeks ago...😖 I'll give him another couple of months, but after that.....
