I have a Skeptical Buffer on reverb, among other things. Fun paint job, good effort into the build etc etc. It sounds good but it's not my thing. I got a message from a certain fellow asking me to please take the listing down, quickly followed by a listing suspension.
What's the consensus on the guy? We had a civil conversation, but he was certainly wrong on some points. I asked him to elaborate, and he did. I took the listing down and haven't put it back up, but I like to have a full perspective. He didn't seem to hold this place in the highest regard. Everyone here has always been nice to me.
I used the actual names in the title and listing. My listing was reinstated 10 mins later with the brand name removed from the title but not the description. I read thru Reverb's listing guidelines and it specifically states trademarked names are not allowed to be used with clones. I looked up these names in the official US Trademark & Patent Office website. The names I used, that pertained to this item, are not listed as current, live, pending, or even expired trademarks. I checked a few other pedal companies and they are listed. I mentioned this in the conversation and it was weakly rebuffed. There were some other things that didn't add up but that's to be expected with something like this.
At this time my listing is not active, by my choice. One thing he mentioned was that the trace is different from his design, specifically the +/-15v voltage supply was removed and the circuit was not rebiased for the new power supply. I'd like to have some insight into this. The only thing that really matters to me is being accurate in my listings so if I were to relist them item I want to be correct so the buyer can know what they are purchasing.
I'm not looking for a flame on. Just background info about whether this fits his m.o. and the technical details of the pedal. I don't know enough about electronics to figure it out for myself.
