DEMO Harry Klippton's 1590a builds

This post contains an audio or video demo
Ok here you go y'all. This was the second most frustrating build I've ever done. Edit: I forgot to mention this is the Madbean Imp v1 giveaway board. There's a lot of shit jammed in here and the parts values are absurd. There are lots of 1/4w resistors standing up, and a couple fornicating caps too.

There's absolutely no way I can take the klon seriously, hence the art and the name. I initially was going to call it "weird expensive horse" but rolled with the Ferrari theme despite using an orange enclosure . That's what I had, and also fuck it.

I soldered the ICs (and the diodes for that matter) directly without sockets because 1. Fuck 'em, 2. Fuck sockets.

Does it sound like a klon? Fuck if I know. I've never bothered to check out what a klon sounds like because I hate what the klon represents. That being said, I still haven't tried this pedal out beyond confirming that the pedal and its controls work. Should my demo be a reaction video of me playing it for the first time? Let me know

I love absolutely everything about this build report. The fuck it attitude, the disdain for the Klon and everything it represents, and the fact that it’s still a damn good looking build. Shit like this just warms my little heart.

Them grapes might be TOO tight, bruh. That horse... 🍇🍇🍇🍇🍇🍇🍇🍇🍇🍇🍇

I respect your masochism, after 4 or 5 of those I started using 1590a sized boards exclusively in 2 in 1 pedals. My hands are too big and useless for such things.

Awesome job! I also want to try my 1590A skills, but that probably won't happen for a while. I've also never played a klon (bought the Klon board, but did Chuck's bass mods so not 100% sure if that counts or not) and have no interest to do so.
Same, I love the chon but have no use for a klon.

Guess who still hasn't tried this pedal out 🙋

Man, I really love these builds (but I hate building in 1590A with a vengeance). I hear you can do top-mount in a 1590LB...

Alright here's a real piece of shit build. I almost chucked this in the trash several times today. I built this Madbean Fritter about a year and a half ago. I loved how it sounded when I tested it! While pondering what to put on the pedal and trying various iterations of breakfast food names, I decided the funniest possible choice was just the word breakfast, so I rolled with it and drilled the enclosure, only to find that the pots wouldn't fit.

It was exactly the same problem as the Imp build above, only this one happened first. Right away, I stripped the no film off the enclosure. It was only then that I had the idea to Dremel out the screw posts like I did with the imp. So I waited until I had space on a new sheet of decals to redo this one. Almost 2 years went by. I finally got around to the decal today, and it came out like absolute shit. Putting no film on already drilled enclosures kinda sucks. The black on this one lifted and cracked all around the pot holes. I also started this one with white wire, and I no longer have any white wire, so that doesn't match either.

As soon as I plugged this in a few minutes ago, I ordered an awful waffle so i can get a proper second chance with this and not in an infernal 1590a. standard build report photos below. Also you can see how fucked the decal is before I assembled it. Finally, because I had hacked the enclosure up, I modified my logo at the bottom with red rubber stamp text that says SALVAGE
