Headphone Amp

I have hand wired up a circuit pretty much like the apps note for the MAX9722 that works for driving headphones. I am also using The UniCab and a Frog preamp (this uses a 12ax7 tube) in front of it. This works pretty good for me. The MAX9722 is TSSOP so I got a breakout board from Adafruit. There is another package for MAX9722 and it has a different pin-out. This schematic is for the TSSOP.

Maybe something like this could be an option for the UniCab?

Here is the schematic (I don't guarantee there are no errors). I used MLCC for the 1uF. This circuit doesn't do any tone shaping. It is just a headphone driver.

Not directly. The frog preamp and UniCab make a big difference. Right now my signal chain is MDMA, Van Pelt, Module 8, frog preamp, UniCab, tuner, DI box to house. I get a return from the house that goes into a beringher personal mixer. The out from the mixer goes to my headphone amp. I didn't play with it much at home just with pedals.

I think the big thing sound wise is the unicab. But it won't drive headphones well.

I'll also warn you that the TSSOP footprint is pretty small.
