Help with the Little Green Scream Machine

Hi everyone, I'm new to the group and to pedal building. I'm working on my first build and it's coming together nicely, but evidently I didn't receive the 47n capacitor for the C4 position in my order from Tayda. I'm wondering if it's ultra necessary, or I'm able to omit it. Will it throw off the entire project if I leave it out? Will it not work at all? If anyone has any wisdom to share, I'd appreciate the help. Thank you!

That part forms the low cut in conjunction with R8, you do need it. Though you can change the value. Larger would increase the bass response of the pedal, smaller would reduce the bass response.

You would probably be best off waiting for the right part to come in.

However depending on what you have on hand, you could series or parallel some other caps to get the approximate value. For example two 22nf caps in parallel would be 44nf. Or two 100nf caps in series would be 50nf.

Ok thanks for the info! My next question is when I ordered everything I went based on the individual values, but they all seemed to be varying voltages. Is that anything to be concerned about (again, TOTAL newbie here)? Like most were rated 100v, but then one is 63v. How do you know what you need?

Rule of thumb is 1.5x operating voltage...so a pedal with 9vdc and no step 16v or 25v will suffice. It's more about the package size...check lead spacing.
