It's 11.11 day at AliExpress

Les Paul pickguards as well..... if I ever take it off it'll be back and forth in the case / installed every other day until I grow tired of the BS. 🤣

And I always end up putting it back on afterwards.

I hate to start tweaking my guitar setup because it turns into an endless cycle where I'm never quite as happy as I was before I started.

Ignorance is bliss. 🤣
This has been my dilemma- I’ve never felt a need to improve the action, even after string gauge or tuning changes.

Some deals on items I’ve purchased and can recommend:

- sequre’s 245 iron, $33 - was my daily driver for a while https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrlruu3
- shannon tweezers LCR meter (recommended by eevblogforum and designed by a member) $120 has become the main component tester I use https://a.aliexpress.com/_mr1AMAB
- yihua automatic soldering tip cleaner, $40 https://a.aliexpress.com/_mP3Bawf
- sonicake 2 loop blender pedal, $50 https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPaeT9Z

What’s the deal with that soldering iron pencil sharpener!?

A handful of higher end brands make them (JBC, etc) but until this one came out the cheapest was $120 from hakko. It’s slightly easier than using a brass ball cleaner and the time it saves adds up. If I was buying one today I’d probably spring for axiun’s $80 one that looks like its better made but it wasn’t out when I bought mine

How’s it work?

What’s in there?

Is there some spinny element in there that needs to be replaced?

My best guess would be similarly to the "welding tip cleaner" that you can find in the ads for other stuff down below.

Probably a pair of brass brush rollers connected to a motor that makes em spin.

Can't imagine it would need to be changed too often.

@Erik S Yup this is exactly it. You lift off the cover to dump solder out of it. The aixun one has a tray which seems nicer

If anyone is curious to play with NAM profiles, Ali has another sale going and the Valeton GP-5(Chinese version) can be had for about $40. Also works as an IR loader(1024 sample limit I think)
Note, there are 2 versions of this pedal. Chinese and Global. The Chinese version has no other languages and cannot be changed. that being said, you aren't going to edit patches on the thing. You'll use the app, which does work in English.
Considering it costs about as much as a daisy seed, I'll probably pick one up to toy with.
It also functions as a 2x2 audio interface over USBC and can be used as a phone audio interface. Seems like it could be a pretty cool as a quick and dirty pedal demo setup.

Make sure you "clip" the coupons.
