Soooo, not to beat a dead horse into pate', I was in the mood to tweak another classic into a more usable OD for myself and maybe others. Seriously, the Klon buffer is just way too much. If you love your amp tone, its gone with this big box in its path. Plus it messes up following pedals` if you like those too. Some may think Im nuts, but Some with ears know Im not.
Bypass!!! luckily I found here in these forums, and Im reposting the drawing. It was in a Kliche Mini thread? but worked on my full BB board too. As much of a cult following the buffer has, it just doesnt work for me.
Next was beefing up low end and I replaced C15 with a 8.2n. I rolled the dice as 6.8n is so popular among others. I can surely say it retains lows without farting out and exaggerating any muddy resonance. It still cuts. One simple cap has changed this pedal from a door stop into something Id use.
Bypass, for me, is a winner.
C15 to 8.2n levels the tone much more neutral. Have fun, Enjoy!
