Lowballer build question

The 470nf tantalum cap in this build , can I sub it with an electrolytic?
I'm sure theres a good reason for choosing to put a tantalum there but I don't have one and as usual I'm inpatient and don't want to wait unless its critical to the circuit
also being that its a 470nf if I was able to use an electrolytic it'd be 47uf value correct?

It would be a 0.47uF electrolytic

I'd personally try a 470nF film cap

I note the polarity is the reverse of C2 you can test for polarity on a film capacitor like this albeit I've no idea how accurate it is

You could also put two 1uf caps in series to give you 0.5uf

Thanks for the quick response I'll try the film cap and I read about nonpolar caps being polarized just never felt that in pedals it would have any noticeable difference but I really liked the quick and dirty cap polarity test makes sense to my ears now that I can hear the difference. I figure each one in wrong will give just a bit more noise to the circuit so I'll probably start doing that in any and all high gain future builds thanks for the tip
