M800 or The John

Hi everyone,

I want to place my monthly diy order but beside the Cetus I can't decide between a M800 or The John.
It should be used with a bass. Any suggestions which one would fit a bass guitar more than the other? If this question makes sense.
There might be no correct answer because one can't have enough drive pedals...
Right now I love a Bass Butler with the Rockerverb distortion. Maybe the M800 or John make it just redundant?

I have only made the John. It is a good pedal, but may not be a long term pedal for me. It has a smooth tone with a more prominent mid frequencies. The overdrive is nice and it does clean up very well.
