MAS Effects Stomp Fuzz

I wanted to try a 1590A build and when I found the Stomp Fuzz by MAS effects I figured I'd give it a go. Bought the PCB and sat on it for a while until LoveMySwitches released these awesome neon yellow enclosures, so I picked one of those up and started the build! This was my first attempt at SMD and it went pretty well. Just did the usual pre-solder one pad to hold in place then do the other side and it was easy. The main issue I had was trying to fit it in the enclosure which was kind of tricky. I originally wanted both knobs on the front but didn't have room so I put one on the side (tone knob) which looks cool to me.

When I initially fired up the pedal I burnt out the led becuase I forgot to add a resistor. Then the sound coming out was massively distored and the tone knob wasnt working. Using the audio probe on this build was hilariously easy and I found the problem to be a backwards diode. Carefully using the solder wick to unsolder the diode and flip it around. Tried it again and the pedal souned the same? Saw that the diode got flipped over again (ahhh!). Unsoldered again but this time the top had scratched and I couldnt see where the line was... (AHHH!) But I gave it a flip, fired the pedal up and it sounded great! Third times a charm on the tiny diode, thankfully.

Now I have this tiny neon yellow (neon greenish in person) fuzz (based on bazz fuss I believe) and its awesome! I got their even smaller PicoFuzz and a 1590LB that I'm going to give a go eventually but for now this was a fun build I highly recommend.
