Anyone here tried this comp or familiar with it at all?

"The Mirage is a non-optical, proprietary design of my own work. It is not based on any classic compressor. I took a look at all the things that I did not like about accepted compressor performance and designed those quirks out. The result is a compressor that draws the tone forward while gently smoothing spikes and pops.

Thank you

I’m curious to know if it’s just more market spin, because the price is reasonable.
The "Pro" version:
We have upgraded using exotic audiophile grade Silk/Hemp low ESR electrolytic’s, ultra-low noise amplifier, Polypropylene foil caps and precision thin film resistors throughout. We have also added additional power filtering to eliminate supply noise.

I feel like, hemp aside, you should probably be doing all this in a production comp already. At least to the point that it matters. I could see the opamp upgrade coming from some recent TI releases but were they not using low ESR caps already? Going metal film may give you a marginally better distortion analysis, but nothing much better than a quality film cap.
Now, maybe the original is a lot of prepoulates and stuff, so that could be an improvement.

I saw a couple of them in a Bukovac pedal rig-rundown (IIRC) that were laying next to his board, never referred to at all throughout the vid and no direct shots, only saw the at an obtuse angle.

So curiosity got this cat and I had to find out more about them. Not a lot to be found on first sift of the litter...

Formulates a plan to start posting shit on the PPCB IG from a fake Fairfield Circuitry account to get a move on some wish list items

Ahh, gosh darnit, too bad he's so nice I can't bring myself to do it.

Edit: I guess the last line works for both Robert and the Fairfield guy 🤷‍♂️

Cool.

The NN Simple Comp sent me down a rabbit-hole on my HD, searching out all the tiny simple compressor-circuits I've accumulated over the years — the NN was in amongst them.

All sorts of compact compressors I'd forgotten about that may serve me well for my Octaver project, such as this NN/Montez mashup.
