This thing was one of the more involved builds I have done. Completing it kind of feels like a right of passage.

The build went without issues and I feel pretty happy with my layout and soldering throughout. It sounds great and I look forward to experimenting with it and learning more about the BMP circuit with it.

It’s my first pedal with germanium transistors or diodes. Thank you to @PedalBuilder for the help with the transistors.

Took a shot the Tayda Drills for the Muffin Factory project board I ordered. (The Tayda Drills Tool is actually pretty easy to use.) Did up the drills template (being sure to add the 0.2mm for powder coating), submitted it and ordered a nice shiny new black 1590BB enclosure with the new drill template. It arrived and it fits! And yes, it has the square-cornered rectangular holes for the DIP switches. Here's the link:

I just drilled mine a couple of days ago. It's a bunch of small holes and a file. A faceplate is the way to go.

I drilled a hole at each of the 4 corners and then connected them with this guy. If you have a fine tooth blade they cut thin aluminum pretty quick. Just a little clean up with a file at the end. Use cheap file tho as the aluminum can mess them up.

I have a jeweler's saw! So... you'd have to kinda thread one end of the blade itself into a hole THEN attach it to the top of the saw?

Ah! Ok I kinda figured some people must use a series of holes and then just saw the whole thing out...

I have a jeweler's saw! So... you'd have to kinda thread one end of the blade itself into a hole THEN attach it to the top of the saw?

Yes setup the blade so it cuts pulling towards you. Then undo the top and to tension it you just press the top of the blade into the cut and pull it tight then tighten the knobs. It takes a bit to get the hang of it but then it’s pretty quick.

A coping saw would work fine also and you don’t have to do the song and dance to tension it but it is a little slower than the jewelers saw when you have the hang of it. I think the blades I use for this are 26 teeth per inch. I usually aim for 3-5 teeth in whatever dimension I’m cutting.

I had a white rectangle to guide me, printed exactly where the switches would fit.

Buy your self a 3mm flat end mill. After you drill the hole, fit your drill press (only recommend using with drill press) with the end mill and very carefully mill the rectangle out. Make the end mill is an upcut rather than a down cut and you should be fine. Its worked for me int he past
