Muffin Fuzz - Low Output

I really should buy two boards when I'm going to try something new with the circuit. Wanted to build a Green Russian with the intent of a 2-in-1 with the squidward.

Why not add a Hoof-style Shift control while I'm at it. I wired lug 3 of a b50k pot to the live pad on r18, bridged lugs 1/2, then wired lug 1 to a 6k8 then back to the ground side of r18. Seems to work fine, I also increased c10 to 10n like I did on my Hoof as per Chuck's recommendation.

No 5088s but I had bc550s, so I dropped those in and thought "prolly shoulda checked the pinout." After getting those turned around the right way, I wasn't getting any sound, noticed what looked like a broken trace from the base of q4 to c13, added a wire to make that connection and it sounds great, except for the volume, even with volume and gain maxed it's a little below unity. I've gone over all the values and probed it, and the only thing I'm noticing is what seems like possibly a volume drop at c12. everything is stock green russian except for the transistors, c10 (10n instead of 3.9n), r18 (6k8 + b50k instead of 22k), and the wired in pot at r18 to help adjust the mids.

Any idea what's going on here with the output?
