This one was a pretty straightforward, or it would have been if I hadn’t decided to make to way more difficult ha! I used Tayda’s cutting service to make a sword shaped led hole, and trying to figure out how to make that into a proper window was challenging. If you’re wondering, I just manually entered each vector on the path and used a circle for the end of the handle. Didn’t light up as evenly as I hoped, and the hot glue I used for the window is not the cleanest, but it’s close. Most parts were from Tayda, but I picked up a 2N5485 from Amplifier Parts.

For the Sword LED, you could sub out the regular LED for a strip of 5 or so SMD LEDs.
I was wondering if there was a better solution. I tried 4 in series on a breadboard but they got too dim. Now that I think about it I could try a series and replace the resistor before the led to change the brightness, if there is one. I’ll have to check the schematic. I think I have some SMD led strip around somewhere as well hmm…
