Well I've confirmed that Jeff can pretty well handle anything I throw at him. With the Uberschall I told him to go all-in, the whole 2-channel preamp all the way through the FX loop, and he went for it. He used my libraries so the tubes and footswitches will mount the same way as with my designs. But holy crap. 4x tubes, 2x footswitches, and into a 1590DD.

My designs are usually 4-layer boards these days, because I like the flexibility of internal power and ground planes. It make routing easier and also helps with noise and stability. Well the Uberschall is a 6-layer board. Typically I like to show 3D views of layouts so you can see how cool it is, but you need to see this absurd routing.



But the 3D view is still super cool, so here's that:

IIRC I picked up a 125A when I got the transformers for my 5E3 build, with the intention of doing something stupid with the little Hammond.

I still think a 1590A Herzog would be too cool!

The routing on some of your boards leaned that way for me; Jeff’s board in particular has some familiar techniques.

It gets pretty intense. I actually don't even do layouts at my current job, I just do schematics and pass them on to the layout team after review. I initially interviewed for the layout team and didn't get the job

Fun fact: the raspi board is also 6 layers.

Yeah I'm a little nervous. Like on the one hand I'm confident in Jeff's abilities, but on the other hand I've had intense battles making high-gain tube circuits play nicely in pedal formats. Boards have been ordered, so we'll see what happens when they come in a couple weeks.

You should convince the layout team to tackle the project wish list! There’s good side hustle money to be made there!

I think we actually have this one set up for 350V on the HV rail, I'll double check though.

PCBs showed up yesterday, but the tayda bits to get it all put together won't be here until Monday because I ordered them together with an enclosure and forgot to put in the drill job, so the order just sat around waiting for me.

I’m not very knowledgeable with tube circuits ( even basic circuit design for that matter ). But I was under the assumption that all (or most) of the modern high gain amps were 300v+
