Not exactly NGD but...

...close! Barry's thread about his NGD reminded that I might not have posted about the last guitar I bought. It's one of the USA Epiphone Casinos - apologies if I have posted about it before. I stumbled into a killer deal and the store I bought it from didn't even realise they had one until I told them! It was all very strange... Anyway, the guitar is everything I hoped it might be but was afraid it might not be. Made in the Gibson factory it is actually insanely well finished (!), plays like a dream and sounds incredible. I've had it now for a few months and I like it more now than when I bought it. The neck is slim but not too slim, and almost plays better than my '59 RI 335, which has a slightly chunkier neck. I love 'em both.

P90s in a hollow body guitar is a sound that really hits the spot with me. I got the colour I wanted, the pickup colour I wanted and the headstock I wanted. The bridge pickup barks and twangs how I like and you could do a jazz gig with this neck pickup. It's lush! It can rock like crazy too.

A pic to prove it's not a guitar-hero thing:

Man, that thing looks delicious. I've been hankering for one of the "Coupe" model Casino's as a platform to upgrade. But those need a lot of work, a far cry from the USA made models which are excellent out of the box.

Thanks! It really is a very responsive, lively guitar and I like it even more than the Japanese Casinos I've played. Gibson really can make a great guitar when they want to. And they can make seriously good pickups too. These P90s are excellent.
