I keep finding myself compelled to post things here that I'm fairly certain nobody here is interested in. However, I'm actually listening to this on vinyl right now as I'm populating a cdxl so it counts.

Anyway, this whole record blew me away when it came out. Got to see them play at Reed College in 2005ish. Sadly not this piece but the chops on display were unreal. Piazzola supposedly wrote this suite for 2 guitars for them specifically.

Thanks for sharing that. Not quite the same thing, but it reminded me of Rodrigo y Gabriella. I had the good fortune to see them at the Hollywood Bowl a few years back when they played with the LA Philharmonic and it was really something seeing them with the weight of an orchestra.

Been listening to JJ since blackwater, saw him open for BB King, seen him countless times since.

Part of the purpose of this thread, IMO, is to share discoveries and extend our sonic-palettes. Please post whatever you find interesting, the rest of us might enjoy it too!

Was able to get last year's repress of this great compilation of Pauline Anna Strom's 80s work.
My friend calls this an "oddball" album, I agree, but in a good way.

I’ve been on a Sonic Youth kick…Daydream Nation, Goo, and Dirty, mostly…

They are my all time favorite band. Have you heard Sister? IMO it’s one of their best. The Confusion is Sex/Kill Yr Idols is amazing stuff to. If you’re looking for later stuff Nurse and Rather Ripped are both great. Can’t get along with Goo for some reason.
